I've been going to Barrier Free's Studio program for about a year now, and I can say with no hesitation it has been the best thing in my life for that year. It's made very clear that it's a safe space and I appreciate that everyone is treated as equals, not condescended to in any way. It's helped me improve myself and has taught me a lot of important skills, and is overall a very good place for neurodivergent adults to go if they're looking for a broader social life! I love this place and can't say enough about it.

I love going to Barrier-Free! It has changed my life in the best ways possible! I am currently living independently with my pet, and have lived independently in my own apartment for a little over one year now. They have also helped connect me with BotaniGal, a local small business horticulture shop; a part-time inventory assistant position being the end result. I have made so many new friends here, and they are still helping me grow as a person! No regrets about joining Barrier-Free!

I am incredibly grateful for Barrier Free and the services they provide. In my 8 months of attending their social program, I’ve gone from a nervous wreck that could barely take care of myself to feeling like an actual functioning person. I have real, genuine connections with others now, I finally feel like I have a purpose, and I wouldn’t trade that for anything in the world.

This place changed my life, I could not have made it where I am without Barrier Free, the owners are the nicest people I know, amazing community and friends were made here, a no brainer for anyone who needs a great group of friends, also very good for learning social skills

I would not be where I am today without Barrier-Free! I love the theater companies, the Life Skills & Social Studio, social club outings, and connecting with everyone. I'm now living independently with Barrier-Free's support and even have a job in town, all because of the founders of the organization. Barrier-Free is my second family!

I am sincerely grateful to have stumbled upon Barrier-Free MD in the Carroll Magazine! My daughter, who has HFA, attended a free trial session today and instantaneously felt accepted and welcomed with open arms! Hannah is eager to make new friends, as she looks forward to becoming an active participant at Barrier-Free.

I go to rehearsal at the Community Center in Carroll County every Monday from seven until eight thirty. We do sing songs with Music Mike and we play improv games and we do improv scenes. It’s through Barrier Free and we have company A and company B. I go to the company on Mondays which is company A. I don’t go to company B on Wednesdays and we do acting and. We will have an Inclusive Theater Season and Performance Weekend on March 11th and 12th and 13th. It is fun and a blast and joyful because I like to be sociable with my friends and my mentors Lauren and Britt.

Was asked to help out last minute about 4 years and was totally blown away by the talent and love of the staff and clients. I've been hooked ever since then.
